Homemade Pav Bhaji Recipe
Ingredients:
6 potatoes boiled
4 onions chopped finely
1 cup peas ( frozen)
1 green capsicum / pepper finely chopped
7 ripe and red tomatoes
2 tbsp garlic chopped finely
3 tbsp butter
10-12 whole red chillies
2-3 tbsp pav bhaji masala
salt to taste
For garnishing:
1 onion chopped finely
1/2 cup coriander leaves chopped finely

Method:
Boil, peel and then mash the potatoes and the peas together to form a smooth paste.
Put the tomatoes in hot water for 10-15 minutes so that the skin comes off easily than grind into a puree.
Soak the whole red chillies in hot water for 2-3 hours. Remove the water and then in a grinder grind into a fine paste with a little water.
Heat 2 tbsp butter and 3 tbsp oil in a heavy vessel then saute 1 tbsp of garlic for a second . Then add the chopped onions and cook till it turns pinkish in colour.
Add the tomato puree and cook for 5-10 minutes till oil leaves the sides.
Add the chilli paste ,salt and cook again.
Add the green capsicum cook for a minute then add the mashed potato and green peas. With the help of a masher mash the veggies together to form a smooth paste.
If it is too thick a little water can be added to it. Cook for 5-10 minutes.
Take a small pan, heat 1 tbsp butter to it add the garlic paste and the pav bhaji masala.
Pour it on the bhaji mix well and garnish with coriander leaves .
