Homemade Broccoli Manchurian Recipe

Manchurian Balls:

Ingredients

  • 250 gms broccoli

  • 1 small carrot grated

  • 1/2 tbsp ginger/garlic paste

  • 1 tsp pepper powder

  • 1 tsp soya sauce

  • 2-3 tbsp corn flour

  • salt as per taste

Method:

  1. Clean, wash and cut the brocolli into florets.

  2. In a pan heat some water with salt and boil the broccoli.

  3. Remove from water and squeeze all the excess water. Mash and keep aside.

  4. Peel, wash and grate the carrot and squeeze out all the excess water from it.

  5. In a bowl add the mashed broccoli, grated carrot, salt, pepper, soya sauce, ginger/ garlic paste and corn flour. Mix all the ingredients together and make small balls.

  6. In an Appe Pan add a drop of oil and cook all the balls on both sides till brown in colour. Alternatively it can also be deep fried.

Ingredients For the Sauce

  • 1/2 tbsp ginger chopped finely

  • 1 tbsp garlic chopped finely

  • 2 tbsp dark soya sauce

  • 1/2 tbsp schezwan sauce

  • 1/2 tbsp ketchup

  • 1 tbsp corn flour

  • salt as per taste

  • 1 tsp pepper powder

  • 1/2 tbsp spring onions chopped finely

  • 1/2 tbsp celery chopped finely

Method:

  1. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan saute the chopped garlic and ginger for few seconds.

  2. Add the ketchup, schezwan sauce , salt, pepper and soya sauce and sauté for few seconds.

  3. Then add one cup of water. Cook for 5 mins.

  4. Make a paste of water and corn flour and add it in the pan. Keep stirring to avoid lumps. Cook on low flame for 5-10 minutes till the sauce becomes thick.

  5. In a serving bowl place all the broccoli balls and pour the hot sauce on it.

  6. Garnish with some spring onions and celery.

    Serve this yummy and healthy broccoli manchurian with fried rice and noodles.
