Homemade Dal Khichdi Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup basmati rice
1 cup moong chilkawali
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
salt as per taste
For Tadka:
2 green chillies chopped finely
1/2 tbsp ginger chopped finely
1/2 tbsp garlic chopped finely
a pinch of asefodita
1 tsp jeera (cumin) seeds
1 whole red chilli
Method:
Clean, wash and soak the rice and dal together in 4 cups water for half an hour.
In a pressure cooker add the rice and dal with the water, salt and turmeric.
Mix well, close the cooker and cook till 3 whistles.
Once the pressure is released open the cooker and add water only if required.
For the tadka take a pan heat 2-3 tbsp ghee add the asefodita and jeera when it splutters add the whole chilli, chopped garlic, ginger and green chillies . Pour this tadka on the khichdi.
Serve this healthy and tasty khichdi hot with yogurt and pickle.
