Homemade Dates and Anjeer Modak Recipe

Ingredients:
500 gms dates
250 gms anjeer/ dried figs
25 gms chopped pistachio
25 gms chopped kaju/ cashewnuts
25 gms chopped almonds
1 tsp cardamom powder
2 tsp ghee
Method:
Remove the seeds from the dates. Cut or break the anjeer into half.
Chop the almonds, kaju and pistachios into small pieces.
Grind the anjeer and dates separately into a fine paste.
Heat a non stick pan with 2 tsp ghee and roast the almonds on low flame stirring constantly for 30 seconds then add the kaju and pistachio and again roast on low flame for a minute. Remove on a plate and allow it to cool.
In a bowl add the dates, anjeer and roasted nuts. Mix well to form a smooth soft dough.
Grease a modak mould with some ghee then pinch a little dough and fill it tightly in the mould. Then open the mould and slowly remove the modak from it and keep it on a plate.
Repeat the process till all the dough is used up.
