Homemade Falafel Recipe
Ingredients:
2 cups kabuli chana or chickpeas
6-7 green chilies
1 onion
1/4 cup parsley
1 lemon juice
1 tbsp garlic chopped finely
1 tsp jeera powder (cumin powder)
1/2 tbsp chili powder
5- 6 tbsp bread crumbs
pinch of soda bi carb
salt as per taste
oil for frying
Method:
Clean , wash and soak the kabuli chana for 5-6 hours then drain all the water and keep aside.
Take a grinder and grind all the above ingredients together to make a coarse mixture. if needed a little water can be added to the mixture if it is too dry.
Remove in a bowl and mix the bread crumbs in it.
Take a little mixture and roll into round or oval shape balls .Repeat till all the mixture is used.
Keep it in the refrigerator for about an hour.
Remove from the refrigerator and deep fry on medium to low flame till golden brown on both sides.
Serve with Hummus and Lebanese bread ( kabus)
