Homemade Instant Murukku Chakli Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2.5 cups rice flour

  • 1/2 cup urad dal flour

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 1/4 tsp asafetida (hing)

  • 2 tbsp white til (sesame seeds )

  • salt as per taste

  • oil for frying

Method:

  1. In a bowl add the rice and urad dal flours, til, salt, asafetida and butter.Mix all the ingredients well. Add water as required to form a soft dough. Do not over knead the dough.

  2. Take a chakli making machine and grease it with some oil.

  3. Make cylindrical balls of the dough and fill the machine with it.

  4. On a butter paper pipe the dough into spiral chakli then join the ends together.

  5. Heat some oil in a kadai and fry the chakli in small batches on medium to low flame till golden brown in colour on both sides.

  6. Remove the chakli on a kitchen towel.

  7. Repeat the process till all the dough is used up.

  8. When cooled store in an airtight container.
