Homemade Moong Dal Pakoda Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups moong dal

  • 1 bunch corainder leaves

  • 10-12 green chillies

  • 3 -4 pieces of ginger

  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder

  • 2 tbsp corainder powder

  • 1 tsp jeera (cumin ) seeds

  • salt as per taste

  • oil for frying

Method:

  1. Clean , wash and soak the moog dal for 4-5 hours.

  2. Drain all the water from the dal. Keep about 1/4 cup of the soaked dal aside.

  3. In a grinder grind the remaining dal into a fine paste without adding any water.

  4. Keep the dal to rest for 2-3 hours.

  5. Clean, wash the corainder leaves, chillies and ginger. Grind it together coarsely.

  6. After 2-3 hours mix the grinded paste, jeera ,red chilli powder, corainder powder and salt in the dal batter.Mix the batter till light and fluffy.

  7. Heat oil in a kadai and place small balls of the dal in the oil and fry on medium to low flame on both sides till golden brown.

    Serve this delicious snack with Green Chutney or ketchup.
