Homemade Thai Chicken and Tofu Satay Recipe
Chicken Satay:
Ingredients:
500 gms boneless chicken breast
½ cup coconut milk made into thick paste
2 tbsp red or green Thai paste
1 tbsp ginger/ garlic paste
1 tsp soya sauce
1 tsp lemon juice
salt as per taste
Method:
Cut chicken into medium size thin pieces and flatten them.
In a bowl mix the ginger / garlic paste, green or red Thai paste , salt, soya sauce, lemon juice and coconut milk .
Then add the chicken pieces and mix well. Keep it for 15-20 minutes.
Then skew it on skewers.
Heat a heavy non stick pan and grease it with some oil .Place the chicken skewers on it. Cook on low flame turning from side to side till it is cooked on all sides.
Serve with peanut sauce.
Tofu Satay:
Ingredients:
500 gms tofu
some coloured capsicum or peppers
1 small onion petals
1 cup coconut milk made into thick paste
2 tbsp red or green Thai paste
2 tbsp ginger/ garlic paste
1 tsp soya sauce
1 tsp lemon juice
salt as per taste
Method:
Wash, deseed the capsicum and chop into big cubes. Cut the tofu also into big cubes and remove the petals of the onion.
In a bowl mix the ginger/ garlic paste , green or red thai paste, salt , soya , lemon juice and coconut milk paste.
Then add the tofu, capsicums and onions and lightly mix . Keep it to rest for 15-20 minutes.
Then skew it on skewers.
Heat a heavy non stick pan and grease it with some oil .Place the Tofu skewers on it. Cook on low flame turning from side to side till it is well cooked on all sides.
Serve with peanut sauce.
