Homemade Poha Recipe
Ingredients:
2 small potatoes cut into cubes
4 medium onions chopped finely
2-3 green chillies chopped finely
2-3 string curry leaves chopped finely
3 cups poha mota ( flatten rice )
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp sugar
1 lemon juice
salt to taste
some coriander leaves and roasted peanuts for garnishing
Method:
Heat 8-9 tbsp oil in a kadai add mustard seeds when it splutters add the curry leaves, turmeric powder and onions.
Saute the onions for 2-3 minutes then add the chopped potatoes.
Cover and cook till it is soft.
Clean and wash the poha in a sieve under the tap for a few minutes ensuring that the poha does not become very soft.
Let the washed poha dry for 5 minutes.
Add all the remaining spices to the washed poha and mix very gently..
Add the poha to the cooked potatoes.
Mix well, cover and cook on low flame for 2-3 minutes.
Remove in a serving bowl add the lemon juice and garnish with some coriander leaves and roasted peanuts.
