Homemade Kadai Paneer Recipe
Ingredients:
500 gms paneer cubes ( fresh/frozen)
1 green capsicum chopped into cubes
1 small onion petals
4 big onions chopped finely
7 big tomatoes chopped finely
1 tbsp chopped garlic
1 tbsp chopped ginger
2 green chillies chopped finely
2 whole red chilli
1 green chilli slit in the center
few ginger julienne
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp red chilli powder
1 tbsp coriander powder
1/2 tbsp jeera ( cumin ) powder
1 tsp garam masala
1 tbsp kasuri methi ( dried fenugreek leaves )
1/4 cup cream
salt as per taste
1/4 cup butter or oil
some chopped coriander leaves
Ingredients for Kadai Masala Powder :
4 whole red chillies
1/2 tbsp whole black pepper
1/2 tbsp whole jeera ( cumin seeds)
2 tbsp whole coriander seeds
Method:
Dry roast all the ingredients for the masala powder on low flame stirring continuously for 4-5 minutes. Allow it to cool. In a grinder jar add the roasted spices and grind to a fine powder. Keep for future use.
In a kadai heat the butter/oil add the chopped onions and cook on low to medium flame stirring at intervals till brown in colour.
Add the garlic and ginger and saute for few seconds then add the chopped tomatoes and salt and cook till drops of oil is seen on the sides. Add all the spices, kadai masala powder, kasuri methi, capsicum , onion petals and 1/4 cup water. Mix well, cover and cook for few minutes.
Add the paneer cubes and cream. Cook for few seconds.
Remove in a serving bowl and garnish with some chopped coriander leaves.
Enjoy this yummy and delicious kadai paneer with naan or bread kulcha.
