Homemade Kokum Sharbat Recipe

Ingredients:
1/2 cup or 50 gms kokum
1 /2 cup sugar
1 /2 cup water
2 tsp roasted jeera/cumin powder
1 tsp pepper powder
salt as per taste
some lemon juice
Method:
Take the kokum in a bowl and lightly wash the kokum with some drinking water. Then add 1 cup hot water to it and keep aside for 1.5 to 2 hours.
After the rest time add the kokum along with the water in a grinder and make into a fine paste.
Add half cup water to the sugar in a vessel and cook till the sugar is completely dissolved. Then add the kokum paste to the sugar mixture and cook for about 10 minutes or till the mixture slightly thickens.
Remove form flame and allow it to cool. Kokum syrup is ready.
Take a dry and clean glass bottle and pour the kokum syrup in it. Refrigerate it for longer shelf life.
To make the kokum sharbat take a glass add 3-4 tbsp of the kokum syrup then add 1 tsp lemon juice in it .Add some ice cubes and pour some cold water into the glass.
Enjoy this yummy and refreshing kokum sharbat chilled .
