Homemade Makhana Kheer Recipe
Ingredients :
1 liter full fat milk
3/4 cup sugar
2 cups makhana
1 tsp cardamom powder
7-8 saffron strands
few chopped nuts for garnishing
Method:
Dry roast the makhana on low flame for 5-10 minutes till it is crispy. Remove in a plate and once cooled break into small pieces.
Boil the milk with sugar, cardamom and saffron on low flame stirring continuously till the quantity is reduced to three fourth.
Add all the makhana and cook on low flame stirring continuously for another
5 minutes.
Remove in a serving bowl and garnish with chopped nuts.
Serve this delicious makhana kheer chilled or hot. and prepare it for vrat or fasting.
