Homemade Moong Dal with Dill Leaves Recipe

Ingredients:
1/4 cup moong dal ( yellow dal)
1 bunch dill ( shepu )leaves
1 tsp chopped ginger
1 chopped green chilli
1/4 tsp hing ( asefodita)
1 tsp jeera ( cumin seeds )
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tbsp lemon juice
salt as per taste
some chopped coriander leaves
Method:
Clean, wash and soak the moong dal in 1 cup water for 10 minutes.
Pluck the dill leaves from the stem, wash and roughly chop them.
In a pan heat 1 tsp ghee add the hing and jeera when it splutters add the ginger, turmeric and green chilli along with the chopped dill leaves. Saute for a second then add the soaked moong dal with the water, chilli powder and salt. Cook on low flame for 2-3 minutes. Then add 2 cups water cover and cook on low flame stirring till the dal is soft and cooked. Add water if required to adjust the dal consistency.
Remove in a serving bowl mix lemon juice and garnish with some chopped coriander leaves.
Enjoy this healthy moong dal with rice or chapati.
