Homemade Palak Patta Chaat Recipe

Homemade Palak Patta Chaat Recipe

Course : Snack

Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients For Batter :

  • 15 big green palak patta ( spinach leaves )

  • 1 cup besan ( gram flour)

  • 2 tbsp rice flour

  • 1/4 tsp asefodita

  • 1/2 tsp ajwain ( carom seeds )

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp chilli powder

  • salt as per taste

  • oil for frying

Ingredients For Toppings:

  • 1/2 cup curds ( yogurt) whisked with some salt

  • 1/4 cup green chutney

  • 1/4 cup sweet chutney

  • 1/4 cup nylon sev

  • 1 small onion chopped finely

  • 1 tsp chilli powder

  • 1 tsp chaat masala

  • 1 tsp roasted jeera powder ( cumin powder )

  • some chopped coriander leaves

Method:

  1. Pluck the palak from the stem. Wash and dry pat the leaves.

  2. In a big bowl mix the besan , rice flour, asefodita, ajwain, turmeric, chilli powder and salt. Make a semi consistency batter by adding water as required.

  3. Heat some oil in a kadai . Take a palak patta dip it in the besan batter and drop it in the oil. Fry on medium to low flame till crispy and golden brown on both sides.

  4. Remove on a tissue towel. Repeat the process till all the palak patta are fried.

  5. Drop some small uneven besan balls in the oil and fry till crispy. Keep aside.

  6. For Plating: Take a serving dish and place 3-4 fried palak patta on it. Garnish with some curds , green chutney and sweet chutney. Sprinkle some chopped onions, besan fried balls, chilli powder, chaat masala, roasted jeera powder, nylon sev and chopped coriander leaves.
