Homemade Kala Chana Pulao Recipe
Ingredients:
2 cups basmati rice
2 cups boiled black chana
3 big onions chopped into long
1 tbsp chopped ginger
1 tbsp chopped garlic
1 bay leaf
1 cinnamon stick
2 green cardamom
1 tsp shahi jeera ( cumin seeds )
1 tbsp red chilli powder
2 tbsp coriander powder
1 tbsp jeera powder (cumin powder )
1 tsp garam masala
water left after boiling the chana
salt as per taste
Method:
Clean, wash and soak the rice in 3 cups water for 30 minutes.
In a pressure cooker heat 5-6 tbsp oil. Add the bay leaf, cinnamon stick and cardamom then add the garlic and ginger and sauté for a few second. Add the onions and cook on low flame till soft. then add the boiled chana and all the spices and salt. Cook for a minute or two then add the rice with the water. Mix well and close the cooker. Cook up to 3 whistles.
Open the cooker once all the pressure is released. Mix again and remove in a serving dish.
Enjoy this easy and quick pulao with yogurt.
